The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo takes place from February to March at NRG Stadium and other venues within NRG Park complex.


The Houston Museum of Natural Science houses the Burke Baker Planetarium Wortham IMAX® Theatre Cockrell Butterfly Center and over a dozen permanent exhibit areas that examine astronomy space science, Native Americans paleontology, energy chemistry, gems and minerals, seashells, Texas wildlife and more.

The John P. McGowen Museum of Health & Medical Science is an interactive and entertaining science experience for all ages that promotes understanding and appreciation of the human body, mind and spirit and inspires a lifelong commitment to health and wellness.   The George Ranch Historical Park holds Texas' "big" stories, from cattle and cotton to oil, from the Texas revolution to World War II. The Ranch's history follows family lines. Originally settled in 1824 as part of Austin's Colony by Nancy and Henry Jones, four generations of the Joneses' descendants have managed and loved this land.
"Houston" was the first word spoken from the moon. The Johnson Space Center (JSC) is located in the Clear Lake area, about 25 miles south/southeast of downtown Houston, via I-45 South, NASA Road 1 exit.   Memorial Park Golf Course is one of the seven municipal Golf Courses.
